In option 1, there’s no going back after you delete an app. Option 2 is a bit more forgiving. Instead of opening Launchpad, open a new finder window. You can do this by clicking the icon in the dock, or by using the keyboard shortcut ⌘+N. In the favorites menu on the left-hand side of the window, you should see ‘Applications’. If not, you can find it by using Spotlight (⌘+Spacebar) and searching ‘Applications’.
